Vallée highlighted the scenes of the mother being thanked at work and the daughter smiling after she spins around the steel bar as ones that he liked. He said that he would have also ended it after the family went through the grandfather's drawings. It was a fun night!David D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14646599764019358808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3552793787451945445.post-8990841488359532022015-10-12T14:24:24.255-05:002015-10-12T14:24:24.255-05:00Oh, that is a surprise, I thought it was a comment...Oh, that is a surprise, I thought it was a comment AFTER the movie, and not during the movie ! For me, I would have find it irritating to have someone comment during the projection. I hope it did not prevent you for enjoying Taste of Tea...

Nevertheless, I find more interesting the parallel you make between some themes in the Taste of Tea, and the movies directed by Vallée. This is an interesting comparison.
Also, I LOVE the scene you are talking about, the psychedelic song about Mountains ! The characters in this clip, with their haircuts and suits, are referencing to 1960's mangas, because they look a lot like Osamu Tezuka's characters, in their grotesque nature.

Here what I was shortly writing about this movie two years ago : http://mirabelle-cerisier.hautetfort.com/archive/2013/10/27/the-taste-of-tea-5206549.htmlAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01513984557162714906noreply@blogger.com
